“Certified Akaushi” are cattle sired by a Purebred or Fullblood Akaushi and are verified through DNA tissue analysis. Each “Certified” Akaushi is assigned a registration number and recorded in the searchable Akaushi Database using the digitalbeef platform.

For registration the sire must be Fullblood or Purebred.

An F1 is the result of crossing a Fullblood sire with a crossbred cow.

An F2 is the result of crossing an F1 with a Fullblood sire.

An F3 is the result of crossing an F2 with a Fullblood sire.

When an F3 is crossed with a Fullblood sire the resulting calf is a Purebred.

Fullbloods result only from crossing Fullblood dams with Fullblood sires.

No. Naturally the higher the percentage of Akaushi the healthier and more marbled the beef will be because of its higher concentration of monounsaturated fats compared to saturated fats, higher amounts of oleic acid, and increased amounts of linoleic acid.

Other important considerations pertain to how the animal was raised. Our calves are raised without added hormones, are never implanted, are fed high quality protein and mineral supplements, and are raised on native pasture without being confined.
